David Borsu

Born in Liege, Belgium in 1972, David grew up in a family of music-lovers & musicians. David played bass & guitar in a few local fusion bands then got interested in production, dee-jaying and began collecting 60’s & 70’s jazz-soul-funk, soundtracks & dance vinyls. In 2003, David remixed Marc Moulin’s “Into The Dark” for Blue Note Records. Marc linked David with Jake Behnan of Counterpoint Records & David got signed for his first proper release. Warmly welcome by many DJ’s & radios worldwide, his “Monster” ep was followed in 2005 by another critically acclaimed 4-track ep titled “Reminiscent”. He also released a 12” single titled “Syncopassion” on the US label Amalgama in 2004 as well as several remixes for international artists such as Perry Hemus, Flowriders & Moody Allen. His first album ‘Insight’ includes the electro-funk bomb 12” single ‘Move’ featuring cosmic soul diva Navasha Daya and other vocal contributions from Olu Butterfly, Damia Da Costa as well as collaborations with several friends & musicians. ‘Insight’ showcases many influences & styles: From smooth acoustic modal jazz to raw funky broken beats, all hold together by a deep, open-minded view on music & a will to join the dots between past, present & future.
