An only child of parents who immigrated to Australia from Chile, Charmaine grew up in the city of Sydney. Music was at the core of her family, her parents committing their lives to music ministry and traveling the world as part of a vocal group. Charmaine was born in the United States while her parents were on tour with their music ministry from Australia, Endless Praise (EP), one of only two professional full-time music ministries in Australia. She grew up on the road immersed in worship music and ministry. It was no surprise when Charmaine found her voice and became the youngest singer in EP, and her songs received substantial recognition and airplay through out Australia. At age 14, having written most of the songs, Charmaine recorded her first solo record showing an unusual grasp of the Gospel and a profound sense of spiritual direction. The record hit shelves in Australia a year later and sold into the thousands, an impressive debut for an independent Christian artist in Australia. This record caught the ear of music executives in Nashville, TN, and Charmaine and her family arrived in Music City in the summer of 2000. Signed to a record deal by Elevate Records, a sister label of Inpop Records, Charmaine was well on her way to extending her ministry into the U.S. Record label executives were not alone in the recognition of this talented young woman with a heart for God, as she was quickly asked to tour with and sing back up for Christian music legend and veteran, Rebecca St. James. Charmaine has been able to travel the world taking her ministry to millions on several of Rebecca St. James’s tours. Charmaine released herself titled album into the U.S. market in August of 2002. Her first radio single, “All In All,” was in the top 10 on the CHR Charts for 14 consecutive weeks, Knowing it was time to branch out and find a way to share a story through a sound that is unmistakably her own,Charmaine started working on her first full album in 9 years. Partnering with friend and producer, Frederick Williams (Music Director- Backstreet Boys), ''Love Reality'' - a record blending orchestral, electronic sounds with the mellifluous voice that is unmistakably Charmaine was born with early critics calling it one of the "greatest surprises of 2010." It was also one of the most highly rated and well received Christian albums of that year. For more information on Charmaine, visit www.charmainemusic.com Read more on Last.fm.
