Blind Friday Are a guitar-based band from Belfast. Formed 2003 by Lead guitarist Simon McBride and lead vocalist Robin Martin (The Horse). Later additions came along with Marty McCloskey on drums and finally Mark Adair on bass guitar. P.R.S. guitars and Crate amps endorse Simon McBride. Gretsch Drums endorse Marty McCloskey. Their music can only be described as true rock, with memorable guitar licks, pounding drums, driving bass and truly passionate vocals, their songs can stir even the most rigid of souls. The lyrical content is of a mixed nature, covering a wide range of topics from funny to controversial. The highlight of 2005 was for Blind Friday is that they have recently played the Oxegen Festival, in which they were represented by Steve Strange. They received a great response with interest from management and others. The Band picked up the 2005 Big Buzz battle of the bands award and got the opportunity to play at the Big Buzz awards where they went down a storm. In August 2006 Blind Friday returned to play The Big Buzz awards again and delivered another memorable performance that we don’t think they will forget. In 2005 they made it through to the GBOB all Ireland finals in the Millennium Forum. Blind Friday have proven time and time again that they are able to deliver an explosive live show certain to get your heart jumping; a band with an enormous amount of energy and passion put into every performance.
