Bassplugger (aka charles bassplugger & alex c) has been laying out beats since the late nineties. Since these two originally hail from Dallas, Texas, they were heavily influenced by the dirty warehouse music from the early 1990’s Bassplugger first hit the scene in 2000 with their single “White Noise / Seduce and Destroy” ( Beatnix Labs Recordings) which enjoyed a good deal of success despite it’s limited pressing. Following that point, they continued to further develop their sound with a succession of releases, which claimed spots on DJ charts across the globe. Their next two singles, “Cortex,” and “Sumac” captured the ear of an even wider audience, and helped to spread their sound worldwide. In 2002 they signed the tech-funk stormers “Counterflow/Jawbreaker” to the Moonshine Green label, which enjoyed tremendous club chart success and gave them a secure foothold in the breakbeat arena. 2002 also saw the seminal remix of their track “Sumac” by the UK’s Future Funk Squad for the En:vision Recordings label, which was charted and supported by top-notch talent everywhere. Currently the two have been on hiatus and plan to return to the music under a new format, but still keeping elements of their Bassplugger sound. Read more on Last.fm.
