Audible began in 2000 as a four-track collaboration between Philadelphia musician Mike Kennedy and his then-girlfriend Mary Garito. As Mike was busy playing drums in several popular area groups (matt pond PA, Mazarin, Lefty's Deceiver), the two never intended to become an actual band. But after releasing a few home recorded EPs, Kennedy was dared by Philly producer Brian McTear to record a proper full-length record at McTear's Miner Street Studio. The resulting album Sky Signal was picked up and released by Polyvinyl Records in 2005 to glowing reviews. Kennedy recruited several friends to perform his songs live: girlfriend (now wife) Kristine Kennedy on bass, longtime friend and collaborator Jim Kehoe on guitar, and the only good drummer ever found on Craigslist, Steve Cawley. The band toured throughout the year, playing with several monsters of indie rock such as Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Okkervill River, and the Castanets. In 2007, Audible added 6th member Ed Hogarty (Bigger Lovers) on guitar to bring additional counterpoint to Kehoe's precise guitar lines. Their second album was recorded in the Kennedys’ bedroom and will be self-released on May 19, 2009. 2. Audible is a house music producer in Sweden. 3. Audible is a rap group from Salt Lake City.
