For over 4 years, Antagen has continued to remain one of the strongest up and coming band's in orange county's competitive music scene, and their sound is quickly spreading. The band is unparalleled in it's work ethic and drive. On any given night Antagen you might see handing out free demos to SoCals punk rock concert goers. Both promoting themselves, and the punk rock scene. They've broken barriers, exceeded goals, and continue to thrive in an over saturated and chaotic southern California music scene/industry. Within the past year, they've played with Authority Zero, Strung Out, Guttermouth, Much The Same, The Voodoo Glowskulls, and many other bands. They also had two songs featured in Dirt Alliance's video "Change" ,Pete Frieden's surf video "The Circus" and fuel tv. Antagen's music is best described as aggressive modern punk rock with socially conscious lyrics, while maintaining the ability to infuse memorable choruses. While performing the songs live, the audience never fails to make the show there own by fighting there way on stage and singing with the band, creating a truly remarkable experience. The punk rock foursome, considered young by industry standards (20, 21, 21, 24), hailing from southern orange county (Rancho Santa Margarita), came together in 2003. The best explanation for the group dynamic would be; they were childhood friends who happen to play instruments. After coming together in the summer they spent hours crafting there sound in the thick of the heat, as the garage became an all too familiar setting. The band quickly shed there garage band mentality/image after attracting the attention of producer Ryan Greene (NoFX, Lagwagon, Strung Out). Soon after meeting up with Ryan the band cut there debut record, aptly named, 15 Days (for the fact that the record was recorded and mixed in just 15 days). Quickly after releasing 15 Days the band won the right to play on the 2005 Warped Tour beating out over 10,000 bands to win the spot. Ernie Ball Marketing director Brian Ball had this to say; "Antagen stepped up and delivered a high energy performance filled with an array of accessible punk rock hooks. Their chorus's continually left you wanting more, and stayed in my head for the better part of the afternoon at Warped". Listen for yourself, we'd love to hear what you think! Read more on Last.fm.
