Local Resident Failure are a skate punk band from Newcastle, NSW in Australia. The band formed in 2007 through a mutual love of 90's style punk rock bands. Since forming the band has toured extensively throughout Australia including places such as Newcastle, Sydney, Canberra, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba, Melbourne and Adelaide and have plans to venture to Tasmania, Western Australia, North QLD and the Snowy Mountains before the end of 2010. The band has released three EPs including a live EP and a vinyl 7-inch which have all received airplay on the National Australian radio station Triple J and have also been reviewed in magazines such as Blunt and Peezine with high results. They were in the Artist Spotlight on Triple J Unearthed in the month of April 2009 and recently the track 'Trash the World' from their EP 'Still Sober After All These Beers' resulted in the band being named 'Featured Artist' on Triple J's Unearthed Program scoring them a spot on the Fat as Butter Festival which saw them playing alongside bands such as Hilltop Hoods, Grinspoon, Birds of Tokyo, Bob Evans among others and also placing them on high rotation on Triple J. Along with this, collectively the band has played with such acts as No Use For a Name, Strung Out, MEST, Daylight, Baillpoint, Lamexcuse, Mach Pelican, Hard Ons, After the Fall, Something With Numbers, Kisschasy and The Hot Lies.
