Ziggy Kinder

Mr Kinder cheerfully spent the first six years of his life at a farmhouse in Oberschlesien (Poland). In 1980, his parents didn’t want to live in the countryside anymore and so they moved to Düsseldorf (Germany). At the age of 10, Sigfried Kinder, alias "Ziggy" Kinder, started making music and gradually built up his career from there. Thanks to the enthusiasm of Ziggy’s father, who was strenuous to give Ziggy and his brother an understanding of playing various kinds of instruments, Ziggy could reap the benefits of different sorts of sound frequencies very early. For a start, he experimented with lots of acoustic instruments. Everything had to be investigated and tried out in order to find the right instrument for music production. After having gone through diverse experiments which for a great part also required some instruments to be excessively used and worn-out, Ziggy eventually decided on the guitar as being his favourite instrument. At the age of 14 Ziggy had his first life experiences. Even in the old days his main focus lied on funky tunes and preferably music that emphasised groovy elements in it. His fascination for Riddim and deep base lines was meant to give him a basis from there. This way, Ziggy almost scrubbed his hands off playing a mean guitar when being the lead guitarist in a variety of bands and countries. In this period of his career his compositions were affected by funk, reggae and hip hop. His favourite bands listed individually: "John Sergant Rockers", "Miss Take", "Al dente", "Singer Jay", "Nikitaman" However, he was also inspired by the sounds of the eighties. Acts like New Order, Human League,Trans X, Anne Clark und Kraftwerk eventually guided him into the sphere of electronic music and toward freaking out on his first Mac. The first electronic project he embarked on was named "Dugong". In 1999, the Dugong sound was dedicated to light, electronic ambient Dub tones combined with acoustic instruments. This was the time when the course was set in the area of minimal sounds correlating with dodgy electronic music. Since 2002, Ziggy has been living and making music in Cologne. As it has always been the case, Ziggy spends his time clubbing by shaking his boody on the dance floor. This is why he is especially keen on producing tracks to which you can actually dance. His very individual arrangements are characterised by a propensity for experiments as well as by functionality for clubs. In this respect, sound aesthetics are paramount. Once that might be strongly modified samples, some other time it might be sythis accompanied by phrases though mostly all mixed up and running against the gravity far out into the sounds of the Universe. In any case, Ziggy’s life acts are untamed and rampant gigs which make you want to dance and which serve the audience with the magic of that special suspense between playfulness and the funk that actually gets you going. At the same time this is where Ziggy’s fat grooves are glooming for the sake of the dance floor. Equipped with a laptop and some controllers, Kinder rocks the club themed as less is more and there is more bass as well! Read more on Last.fm.
