XLp was a Mesa, Arizona punk rock outfit that was started back in 1997. They remained throughout the mid 2000's as a band that was set to take off as the next big thing out of Arizona since Jimmy Eat World. The included album "Play It Til' Your Ears Bleed" was not only reviewed but also came to critical review as one of the best albums in the mid 2000's. The hit single "Our Way" was not only played on local radio stations in Arizona, but was also featured across the U.S. due to it's high demand amongst the bands fans. When the acclaimed album "Play It Til Your Ears Bleed" was released, it was the core members of the band that consisted of Ian Hunthausen (Vocals/Bass), Joe Morales (Lead Guitar/Vocals), and Jason Villanueva (Drums). XLp consistently sold out shows at some of Arizona's most renowned venues and stages and toured through the U.S. during the album's release. "Play It Til Your Ears Bleed" not only was the bands best album put out, but the radio friendly singles on the album made it peak as a highly regarded album across Arizona. XLp never matched their success again with their follow up releases. XLp disbanded due to band lineup changes in the late 2000's but their music lives on through the still dedicated fans that recognized honest solid music for it's time. In recent news, fans have started a rumor that XLp will someday return with it's core members to take the stage again. Only time will tell if it comes to a reality. Read more on Last.fm.
