Worth The Pain is a hardcore band from Lappeenranta, Finland. Their style is metal-influenced while keeping it energetic by throwing in occasional old school elements. The band was formed in summer 2001 after a long and painful search for suitable members. The name Worth The Pain was given to reflect the painful beginning. In December 2001 they released their first demo. With the demo they gained some attention and the first show was played in early 2002. The rest of the year was spent playing more shows and writing new songs. In early 2003 a line-up change took place and the band got a new drummer. The first proper Worth The Pain release saw the light of day in September 2003 in the form of a split 7 inch with a local street punk rock band, Rejected. It got a good response among the punk and hardcore audiences. Things looked good and shows were played at a regular basis. The next goal was to release an MCD but then, in February 2004, another line-up change took place: the second vocalist decided to leave the band. The plans of an MCD had to be put on hold and Worth The Pain was at a turning point: they thought of getting a new vocalist or even splitting up. They decided after all to continue with just one vocalist. In late 2004 Worth The Pain was ready to start recording songs for the delayed debut MCD. Because of a low budget, busy show schedule and strive for perfection it took a bit longer than expected. But now the time has come. The band has been through a lot to get where they are. They have nearly broken up and sacrifices have been made. But as their name says it, it has been worth the pain. In the beginning of 2007 a line up change took place as Joel Forsman, the drummer playing in the band since 2003 left the band in good terms.
