Vile Imbeciles are a four-piece self-proclaimed "junk funk" and "death jazz" band from Brighton, England, formed in 2005 by Andy Huxley, formerly the guitarist of The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. The band themselves claim to sound like, "That which is considered to be the supreme reality and to have the ultimate meaning and value of existence". The band originally included Andy Huxley (guitarist and vocalist, formerly of The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster), James Hair (lead bassist, formerly of Neils Children), and Bertie Lean (drums and vocals). Their debut album "...Ma" was released on 4th June 2007 on White Heat Records. The follow up single to this release "Slack Hands" was released on 18th June 2007. The band finished recording their follow up album in late 2007, the working title of which was "Life Doesn't Get Any Better Than This. It Gets Worse." Though this would eventually become "Queenie Was A Blonde". In October 2007 the band announced that Caz Rospigliosi would be joining the band as lead guitarist and Andy would now become purely a vocalist. The band also posted four new songs on their MySpace page, Jennifer, Shoe God, Puncture Me In Touch Buster and The Empty Vessel. The bands touring schedule also picked up at the start of 2008 with dates around the UK. On June 11th the band announced the release date for their second album, "Queenie Was A Blonde" is set for release on July 14th on Tea Vee Eye Records. The band also announced the first single from the new album, entitled "Bad Ideas" would be released on August 18th. Shortly after the release of the second album, drummer Bertie Lean left the band, and was replaced by Evan Reinhold, drummer of brighton based band The Dirty Cakes Read more on Last.fm.
