Vancougar is four women. Eden Fineday, the lead singer, guitar player and song writer of the band has been playing music for quite a while now. She first met Becca Stewart, Vancougar 's bass player, in Santa Cruz, California, back in the 90's. Both ladies were from Vancouver but living in the States. It was crazy! They played in a couple of side projects together back then, but Becca moved back to Vancouver. When Eden repatriated to Vancouver herself a few years later, it was only natural that she called up Becca. After all, she had lived away for twelve years and didn't know anyone else! They knew they wanted to start a band. As luck would have it, Becca had recently befriended and moved in with a charming and talented young woman by the name of Megan Johnson. Meggers played keyboards! It was all shaping up beautifully. The only thing missing was a drummer. Eden looked to Becca and Megan for guidance in finding someone to bang the skins, as she was the newcomer to the city. They informed her that the Cinch had a kick-ass drummer, and that since one of their members was pregnant, they would be taking a hiatus soon, and so now might be the time to approach said drummer. The plan was put into place. The three girls convened at the Cobalt on Main Street, where they watched the Cinch play. Afterwards, Eden approached CC Rose, pretended to be normal, and spoke of the as-yet-unnamed project, inquiring as to whether or not CC would be interested in “jamming.” Eden knew full well that she was looking for more than that, but she did not want to scare off CC. She could tell that CC scared easily. Shortly after that fateful night at the Cobalt, Vancougar was born. Half pop song, half garage rock, all girl. Read more on Last.fm.
