Steve Uccello's "Symmetria" initiates the listener into a floating lounge where blues, drone, ambient, and weird electronica meet. Contrabassist Steve Uccello leads the adventurous listener across oceans of horse hair on gut drone, into thickets of plucked bass harmonics, and beyond to continents dreaming of pixellated flora and fauna. Symmetria is instrumental music from an imaginary ancient America, where the Exotica of the late 50's melds with the prog-rock and psych of the 70's; where Chinese masters of the seven string Guqin strum in bayous alongside the first practitioners of the blues.
