Tuva Semmingsen

Tuva Semmingsen, mezzo soprano. Tuva Semmingsen was born in Norway and trained at the Norwegian State Academy of Music and the Royal Opera Academy in Copenhagen. Tuva Semmingsen made her debut in 1999 at the Royal Danish Opera, Copenhagen as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, a role she also performed at Teatro la Fenice, Venice in 2000. At the Royal Danish Opera she has appeared amongst other in Giulio Cesare (Sesto) La Cenerentola (Angelina), Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria (Minerva and Melanto), and as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Last season included Idomeneo on tour with Les Arts Florissants/Christie, Rosina at the Norwegian State Opera, and Giulio Cesare with Le Concert d'Astree and Emmanuelle Haïm at the opera of Lille. At the concert podium she sang Händel’s Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Fabio Biondi. The season 07/08 includes Giulio Cesare at the Norwegian Opera conducted by Rinaldo Alessandrini and directed by Stefan Herheim, and Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Grand Opéra de Reims. At the Royal Danish Opera she will sing Zerlina in Don Giovanni, and her first Nerone in L’Incoronazione di Poppea under the direction of David McVicar. Oct 2007 Read more on Last.fm.
