Trine Rein is one of quite few Norwegian artists who has one million in record sales. Almost unknown before the release, only 14 weeks after the release in 1993, her first album, "Finders Keepers", topped the Norwegian album charts for five subsequent weeks. Her debut album sold more than 600,000 copies, of which 400,000 were sold in Japan. The second album, "Beneath My Skin", was released in 1996 and was also a success, opening markets in more European territories, especially Denmark. This album includes Rein's version of the hit song «Torn» which was later covered by actress and singer Nathalie Imbruglia. In 1998, Trine Rein released her third album, "To Find The Truth", and ended up selling more than 100,000 copies at a time when the music business took a dive world wide. Still, with these incredible sales figures, the media insisted on defining her career to be a flop when comparing the album sales to her debut album. A compilation album, "The Very Best of Trine Rein", was released in 2004 and in 2006 Trine was in the final of the Norwegian national Eurovision Song Contest selection "Melodi Grand Prix" with the song "Here For the Show". At this point, Trine Rein took a break from the music business in order to regroup and to find a good reason to continue creating more music. Her next solo album was released twelve years later, "Seeds of Joy", with lyrics and songs written mostly by herself together with the producers. The album was released when success was no longer rated in album sales, but in streaming rates and visibility in the media. Her live performances had a major upswing as it had become the only way to make a living as an artist. She went on tour with her fiancé, Lars Monsen, to perform their very personal show «Vilt&Vakkert» («Wild&Beautiful») - a concert- and speech combo that received lukewarm reviews from the media, but became a very popular show seen by audiences in mostly sold out venues across all of Norway. In 2011, Trine Rein released her first Christmas album with songs she had written mostly by herself with the help from a couple of musicians colleagues. She began to organize church concerts using local choirs from the Soul Children network, and toured around Norway with her own Christmas tour called «Julegaven» («The Christmas Gift») for four years. In 2013, Trine Rein could celebrate her 20th anniversary as a professional artist in Norway, and she put together a concert show which was performed in several major venues in Norway. She released her first live album from this tour, «Hits and Favorites», and continued touring in 2014 celebrating her 20th anniversary as an international artist. Trine Rein currently collaborates with rock legend Tony Carey in creating new music, and has released two new singles from the upcoming album, «The Well». To be continued….
