Torgeir Vassvik

Sami joik technique combined with the throat-singing of the indigenous Siberians. Torgeir Vassvik uses joik, Siberian throat-singing and the sounds of nature together with the Sami drum in new compositions and traditional material. He also creates music for film, videos and sound installations. Torgeir Vassvik’s extensive concert activities during the past few years have taken him all over Norway and abroad. He has participated in several radio and television programmes, and has composed music for films and theatre productions.
