The Unwed Teenage Mothers

The Unwed Teenage Mothers started with a few lightning quick pop songs recorded in various bedrooms and basements in Oxford, Mississippi, influenced by the great Oxford rock n roll and punk bands (The Neckbones, The Preacher's Kids, The Black & Whites, The Withdrawls). With Colin Sneed on vocals and guitar, Johnny Valiant on bass, Landon Boyte on guitar, and Shane Prewitt playing drums, The Unwed Teenage Mothers write songs about girls and wrap them in a two minute punk rock n roll pop package. Chicago's Tic Tac Totally put out the band's first seven-inch EP (If That's Love), followed by a one-sided LP (Blonde Girls) on Denton, TX label Play Pinball. A new seven-inch EP released on Charlottesville, VA label Speakertree Records titled If You Think You're Lonely Now contains four songs about sleep disorders and desperation. Full of pop hooks and loud rock n roll guitars, If You Think You're Lonely Now continues what If That's Love and Blonde girls started. Read more on Last.fm.
