The Seconds

There are at least two bands called The Seconds: [1] The Seconds are a noise-rock trio. The trio consists of Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Jeannie Kwon & Zachary Lehroff (Ex-Models). To date they have only released two commercial albums; 2006's Kratitudes and their debut album Y, both released on released on the Olympia, WA based label 5RC. Kratitude is notable for featuring a dissonant cover of a Shirelles song. [2] The Seconds are an Indie/Folk Band, Formed in Staten Island, NY consisting of John Disalvo on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Joey Picciotto on drums and glockenspiel, Joe Pecora on Lead guitar and vocals and Mike Mcdonnell on bass guitar. They formed one summer when local singer/songwriter John Disalvo (aka The John) put together a one-day-only band for a music festival in 2008. They introduced themselves to each other on that stage and played what they thought would dissipate immediately. However, they have played consistently ever since around the tri-state area everywhere from coffee shops and restaurants to bars and venues. Over the past year The Seconds have been featured at NYC'S Webster hall, and their blue collar anthem "Garbage man" has been played on NYC radio station WRXP as well as their Anti-folk inspired single "Spring Forward." Both songs are on their recently released LP "Slip Away," now available on iTunes and CDBaby. Read more on Last.fm.
