The Orphanage

Top Tracks

There are three groups for which the name The Orphanage is used. 1. A now inactive Wu-Tang Killa Beez group consisting of 4th Disciple, Beretta 9 (aka Kinetic), Lord Superb (now serving time) and ShoGun Assasson. The group is rumoured to have completed an album entitled "The Orphans", a three-track EP has surfaced on the internet. If the album rumour is true, it may be released, although it depends on the situation of Lord Superb who is currently serving time. Tash Mahogany was featured heavily on the project but it has not been confirmed yet if she was just a guest or part of the group. 2. A group consisting of Blueprint, Eyedea, Ian Bavitz (Aesop Rock) , Illogic, and Sean Daley (Slug). 3. The Orphanage are a six-piece rock 'n' roll collision course featuring fiddle, boom booms, choir, shredded vocal, bass guitar, electric and acoustic feedback from Melbourne, Australia. Nomadic folk-duo, Tom Woodward and Tiana Morrison got sick of sleeping in cheap inns and moved into a squat in Northcote. Fellow peripatetic orphans Sam Johnstone, Chris Lavelle and Simon Despoja were recruited to aurally pleasure the masses under the guise of ‘The Orphanage’. Not long after, ex-Perth drifter, George Hyde, met Tom at a lonely bar and was inducted into the orphan world. Guttural lead vocals, murder-ballads, cheating lovers, ghostly harmonies, raucous drinking songs and hedonistic solos. Gritty riffs, complex, detailed lyrics and dynamic melodies, The Orphanage are steadily gathering an army of devoted orphans bearing sickles. Read more on Last.fm.
