Formed in early 2002, The Killer consists of five midwestern men who share common beliefs and goals of what a hardcore band should be. It is to their benefit that, in many cases, the musical influences they bring to the table are very different. Formed from the ashes of All is Lost, Up in Arms, and Synnecrosis, the band started with the desire of creating a HARDCORE band, not a metal band, not a punk band. It seemed there was al ack of heavy, brutal, in your face hardcore in Chicago, and upon realizing this the Killer set out to fill the void. Writing came effortlessly as the different styles of the band members blended perfectly, and in less than 6 months they recorded their first EP, "Where all My Nightmares Came True," which was released in early 2003 by Thornz Records. Now with a new deal with Chicago's Organized Crime Records and a further developed writing style, the Killer are prepared to release their first full-length, "Better Judged by Twelve Than Carried by Six," in the late spring of 2004. Musically, the Killer is relentless and comes with a hybrid of hardcore influences and styles. You can hear Integrity and Merauder in their music. You can also hear Turmoil, Madball, Crowbar, and even Deadguy or Meshuggah among others. Whatever it is that you hear, the sure thing is that the band has succeeded in creating a sound they can call their own. Lyrically, The Killer cocuses on primarily dark issues. Some people in this world live under the false assumption that this world is a happy place, devoid of failures and filled with joys and successes. The Killer is here to ASSURE that you are awakened from this dream, and bludgeoned in to the reality of a world of shit in which we are all prisoners. There is no hope. Read more on Last.fm.
