While others try to recreate the Beatles act, look and sound, this guys recreate the spirit, the energy and the excitement of the Beatles. There is no recycled fab four comments and mannerisms, just straight, vintage Beatle style rock n' roll. Other tribute bands have their show as a rehashed "Beatlemania - Sgt. Pepper - Abbey Road" reproduction. These guys go beyond that, playing songs from all stages of the Beatles career. From the Hamburg and Cavern Club days to the later days of the Beatles... and even the solo hits! The Band heri palos - bass, piano & vocals Heriberto "Heri" Palos formed The Jukebox in his hometown of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico a litte over 8 years ago. After playing in the puertorrican rock scene for about 10 years, he decided to follow his heart, got together a couple of friends and so, The Jukebox was born. "A couple of years ago I went to see Strawberry Fields playing at the Hard Rock Cafe in San Juan. They had the crowd dancing and singing the words to every song. I asked myself why puertorrican Beatle fans (including myself) have to wait for american Beatle bands to go to Puerto Rico and play? Necessity is the mother of invention and I realized there was a big empty space for Beatle fans in Puerto Rico. That really made me form The Jukebox." "I really got interested in the Beatles after John Lennon was killed. I remember seeing my dad very sad after watching the news on TV. After that I wanted to know, who where these Beatles? What's the fuss about? That's when I discovered The Beatles. My life changed from that moment on. I knew a little bit of guitar but I decided to take it further and started to really learn guitar. From that, I switched to bass and started playing in my first rock 'n roll bands. I learned how to play the piano later on. I loved the idea of them playing different instruments. Paul can play guitar, piano, bass, drums, the same with John. That really attracted me." Heri has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education at the Interamerican University in San Juan. jacob rodríguez - guitar, piano & vocals "The Kid", as his bandmates call him, is the youngest member of The Jukebox. But don't let his age fool you, this 27 year old guitar player knows the stuff that makes a good Beatle six-stringer. Proficient in guitar, drums, bass, piano and vocals, Jacob is living proof that the Beatles legacy goes beyond the '60's. "My dad is a musician, so there was always music going on in the house. I grew up with guitars and all kinds of instruments around. They were my toys. " "It's cool playing with these guys. They are perfectionists. They're looking for the right chord, the right note, the right harmony. I've turned into a Beatle freak, I want to know every take, every version, even the mistakes. It's sickening sometimes, but it's great, because it pushes me to give my best." "What I really like is that we don't portray the characters, I mean we dress and we look a little bit like them, but we don't go on our shows saying "Thank you Paul. Now, we like to carry on ...", you know, playing the "fab four bit". I love Paul's singing and I can do it really good on "Lady Madonna" and "Let It Be" and being in this band gives me the freedom to do it. I can't do that anywhere else." juan carlos del valle - drums & vocals Juan is not just a drummer in a Beatle tribute band. This guy is a talented musician-singer-songwriter. He can sing a perfect John in "Nowhere Man" or a perfect Paul in "Kansas City" as well as an amazing Ringo in "Octopus' Garden". A professional drummer for 20 years, Juan has played with latin superstars like teen idols Menudo, Diego Torres, Los Tri-O and many more. A veteran in the puertorrican "rock en español" scene, his band "El Tren", in which he was the drummer, lead singer and songwriter, was considered one of the top rock acts in the Island, opening up concerts for american and latino rock superstars like Warrant, Night Ranger, Miguel Mateos, Enanitos Verdes and Grammy winner Alejandra Guzmán. "As soon as I saw The Beatles cartoons on TV, I fell in love with them" - says Juan Carlos - "I was about 4 years old and it impressed me very much. I loved the music and the fact that the girls were chasing them all the time. From that moment I dreamed about being in a band". "I didn't know they were a real band until somebody gave me a collection of Lp's which had a few Beatle albums. They look strange to me and not like the cartoons I was used to seeing. They were the "late years" albums. When I turned fifteen, I got my first drum set, so, my initial reaction was to play the songs that I've heard for so long." "When I got the offer to play in Jukebox, I didn't think it twice. It was a long time dream to play in a Beatle band. I've never had the chance to play Beatles songs the right way in any of the bands that I've played before. For me it's great to be Ringo for a night." francisco cairol - guitar & vocals Francisco Cairol, is an acomplished guitar player with more than 10 years of road experience under his belt. His spanish rock band "Cuerdas Rotas" (Broken Strings) has established themselves as one of the top bands for the past 7 years including a Top 5 hit in puertorrican radio with "El Orangután". "The Beatles are my inspiration. I was never into anything else. For me there were no hairbands, no Seattle, no New Wave, no electronic music, not even latin music, just the Beatles. I mean, I can listen to it and like some of it but they come up so short next to the Beatles. I was always "the guy with the guitar and the beatle haircut." "I've always wanted to play the Beatles with musicians that take the music seriously. All the people that I played with were like "yeah, the Beatles, I know this and this and this, but when it came to playing it, something was wrong, either the chords or the rythm or they make up their own versions of the songs, it just didn't sound right. With this band I get the chance to do it the way I always wanted to do it". Besides playing with The Jukebox, Francisco also plays with his "rock en español" band "Cuerdas Rotas" and ocasionally plays with other rock bands in the West Coast of Puerto Rico.
