The Great American Novel

Technicolor power pop band, The Great American Novel, was formed in late 2010 by Layne Montgomery and producer Oliver Ignatius of the psychedelic rock band Ghost Pal. The two looked to mash their love of beautiful 60s arrangements created by Brian Wilson or Phil Spector with the rock and roll attitude and New York coolness of the Velvet Underground and Television. Together they recorded the record "You and I" with friends in Oliver's studio, Mama Coco's Funky Kitchen, and self-released the record summer 2011. The lineup finally solidified earlier this year with the addition of JR Atkins on guitar, Peter Kilpin on bass, Devin Calderin on piano and keyboards, and Zac Coe on drums and they are now recording their second record, Kissing, at Mama Coco's Funky Kitchen with an eye on a summer release. http://thegreatamericannovel.bandcamp.com/ Read more on Last.fm.
