When listening to The Freudian Slip’s debut album for the first time, the first question that strikes you is "Is this really just a two piece band?" With an innovative approach to creating music that is based on a 100% pure concept where overdubs are banned, The Freudian Slip sound like a complete rock band! The Freudian Slip don’t pretend to be something they're not, they are exactly what they want to be! With their own unique style, expression and sound, and the courage of following their own direction, an emphasis is placed on the mission of creative rather than commercial success. “Positive/Negative” will be released on the 22nd of February 2010 via The Freudian Slip’s newly launched record label 10.000 Records, and will be distributed on At:tack Denmark. Noah Rosanes and Mikkel Benn both have a long, proven track record within the music business and are both musical chameleons, fearlessly exploring every aspect of the world of music. As a producer, Noah Rosanes has had many tracks in the charts, and Benn has toured with some of Denmark’s most recognised artists. Three years ago Noah Rosanes and Mikkel Benn set off on a musical journey. They limited themselves to just their two instruments and vocals. In this process they discovered unrestricted freedom within the art of limitation. “Positive/Negative” is not only the title of the album, it is also a resume of the bands history. When the The Freudian Slip was founded Noah Rosanes was going through a personal crisis, following a long musical project that had hit the buffers. Mikkel Benn felt stuck as a musical ‘handy man’. At this point these two individual musicians teamed up, and all the anger and frustrations that had built up inside as a result of unfulfilled ambitions was released. Creativity was finally allowed to flow freely. “Positive/Negative” is about the duality in everything. Through pure masculine willpower and belief in themselves, The Freudian Slip have taken their destiny in their own hands, thinking in new ways and turning past failures into success. The result is two musicians in the shape of their lives, and the album is a reflection of this. Read more on Last.fm.
