The Belfast Cowboys are a nine-piece band from Minneapolis, Minnesota that specializes in playing the music of Van Morrison. It is also the papa group to St Dominic’s Trio, an original music project. Both groups are led by singer-songwriter Terry Walsh. The Belfast Cowboys played their first show on St Patrick’s Day, 2002, then after over six years of gigging in the bars of Minnesota, put out a self-titled debut of Van Morrison songs. The disc features Morrison staples such as "Domino" and "Into the Mystic" along with lesser-known gems like "Redwood Tree". In August of 2009, the band headlined at BB King’s Blues Bar in Times Square, NYC. In July of 2010, The Belfast Cowboys opened for Chicago (the band, not the city), playing for three hours in front of roughly 15,000 people. In March of 2011, the band traveled to Ireland.
