Taylor Project

The Taylor Project are a band from Melbourne, Australia, fronted by twin sisters Sarah and Liz Taylor. Their music can be described as alternative country. Their songs "centre on the theme of traditional ballads - loves lost, loves pending, abandoned mattresses and the sea. Wily and heartbreaking lyrics like "you've had everyone in town, you'll come back to me next time around" are buoyed by vocal harmonies, potent violin, artful shimmers of mandolin, tenor banjo and a great country backline." Lineup at the time of 'The happiest girl in the whole wide street': - Sarah Taylor (lead vocals, guitar, piano) - Liz Taylor (backing vocals, mandolin, violin) - Andrew Bonnici (lap steel, banjo) - Paul Rawlinson (bass) - Scott Boydle (drums).
