Suzi Analogue

Suzi Analogue is an American soul/electronic/experimental artist known best for her imaginative songwriting and production contributions to genre-bending indie urban music worldwide. Her aesthetic pioneers vocal concepts of classic soul mashed against electronic charm, creating soundscapes that are conveyed through a global frame. True to her name, Suzi Analogue releases analogue cassettes and vinyl records worldwide. Most notably for her self-released NNXTAPE and ANALOGUE MONSTA-BOOM EP released on 10″ vinyl by Scion A/V Toyota; a collaboration with EDM star TOKiMONSTA (BRAINFEEDER/Ultra), this emerging artist has also worked alongside artists like Stalley, Spoek Mathambo, Blu and opened a tour for electronic producer Bonobo during a North American run. Recently she blended a custom mix for Solange Knowles' SAINT HERON site that got the attention of Brandy Norwood herself. In addition, she has taught production master courses at Yale University to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, performs and is played on radio around the globe. Suzi is based in New York, NY where she launched her label NEVER NORMAL RECORDS late 2013. Her debut release CHILLS + THRILLS EP is available in all digital markets and on cassette via NEVER NORMAL. Born in Baltimore, MD and raised in central Virginia and Philadelphia, Suzi’s geographical background kept her closely connected to the roots of soul, hip-hop, club music, and the emergence of southern hip-hop ; all of which serves as inspiration to her sound and style. Her fascination for self-recordings began at 10 when she began creating her own mixtapes on cassette with dubbed vocals. It was an obsession that seemed to stick. Suzi's music has been featured on BBC Radio, VICE, and countless other international media outlets. In 2009, FRESHSELECTS.NET exclusively released an initial collection from Suzi; a 9-track EP "World Excerpts 1-9" featuring a majority of songs produced by Suzi that received positive mass attention. In August 2010, Suzi self-released the NNXTAPE, a 24-track mixtape of songs performed to beats that is available digitally and on cassette. She has since released exclusive mixes for VICE, and self-released (R)ose (A)lways (W)ins instrumental beat EP. In 2011 Dopeness Galore (Amsterdam, NL) released NNXT, her debut vinyl release. NNXT features two songs and the production comes from Georgia Anne Muldrow (The Program) and Suzi herself (The Thing). Notable past collaborations come from the production crew Klipmode, of which she's a member. Klipmode consisted of Knxwledge, MNDSGN, and devonwho, and from 2009-2011 the group made significant extended play releases available digitally. Suzi has been affiliated with leading underground labels worldwide including Jazzysport, Japan, Wax Tokyodawn Records and more. She is officially endorsed by Moog Music.
