Suntribe was an Estonian girl-band, composed entirely of students, which represented their country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev, Ukraine. The original four-strong line-up was Mari-Leen Kaselaan, Rebecca Kontus, Laura Põldvere and Jaanika Vilipo. They were later joined by a fifth member, Daana Ots. The group had to win Eurolaul, the country’s annual pre-selection competition for Eurovision. Their sternest rival proved to be one of their own members - Laura Põldvere was entered as a solo act, and her song Moonwalk attracted a healthy 9 906 votes. However, for a third year running Estonia's televoters demonstrated their apparent predilection for girl-bands, giving Suntribe's Let's Get Loud 10583 votes to earn the ticket to Kiev. Let’s Get Loud was written by Sven Lõhmus, who also penned the first in the run of girl-band entries to top the popular vote at Eurolaul, namely Vanilla Ninja's Club Kung-Fu in 2003. It failed to qualify from the semi-final in Kiev. The group disbanded shortly after Eurovision 2005. Read more on Last.fm.
