The band released their first E.P, Walk Away, on July 7, 2012 as an independent recording. The E.P. was produced, engineered, and mixed by Michael Pepe, Mastering done by Dave Harris at Studio B Walk Away, is a call-to-arms. The Charlotte, North Carolina five piece band has created their debut album and it's a bold, belligerent and bloody statement. Since they burst onto the scene in 2011, Something Clever's hard rock presence is being felt every step of the way. As rock music has evolved, so has Something Clever, and the band continues to connect with its fan base and stand as popular as ever. Which helped lead them to #1 in all voting categories at the 2012 Ernie Ball and Rockstar Energy Drink Battle Of The Bands for Simpsonville, SC.. The hard working band is one of the best live acts in the Carolina's. Something Clever can "dominate a stage." Something Clever has shared the stage with Sum 41, Saving Abel, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Mark Slaughter, as well as many more well-known local and regional bands and has played before thousands of fans. In July of 2013, Something Clever was asked by Charlotte's own WSOC TV Channel 9, to create a custom song for the High School Friday Night Football Show that would premiere on television through out the football season of 2013. They recorded the song, and created a music video at Concentrix Studios, in Charlotte. The song was recorded, mixed and engineered, by Fred Story, and Michael McGinnis. Something Clever then decided to take on Adam Nelson as their new lead vocalist in the fall of 2013 and shortly after, they released their first new single on 12/3/13 called "Freaks Like You". It was recorded and mixed by Drew Cyphers, and mastered by Dave Harris at Studio B mastering. The single made a gritty, raw, statement that pulls no punches.
