Smashed Gladys were an eighties glam metal band known for their raw sound and outrageous stage shows coupled with lead singer Sally's raspy voice, and consisted of Sally Cato on vocals, Bart Lewis, J.D. Malo on bass and Matt Stelluto on drums. They formed in New York City's Lower East Side in 1981. where they were based. They added a second guitarist in 1984. In all they had three different rhythm guitar players. Marcel LaFleur- 1984-1986 Tommy Wah- 1986 Roger Lane- 1986-1987 Backing vocals for their song "Cast of Nasties" was Ozzy Osbourne. 1986-Their first self titled album recorded in Wales at Rockfield Studios, for a British independent label was released in Europe and North America. 1988- Their second album "Social Intercourse" was released on Warner/Elektra records. Warner/Electra purchased the original British Indi album as well. The Social Intercourse Album has now been purchased by another record company and was re-released recently. Read more on Last.fm.
