Sidney Magal

Sidney Magalhães (Rio de Janeiro, 19 de july 1953) - "Sidney Magal" is an artistic name. Sidney was born in a family of artists. He started singing in TV shows for kids and after that he started at night clubs. The surname "Magal" came during an european travel. At the 70s he shows up as an singer of "brega" songs, sensuals and romantics ones, shaking up his fans. The first great album was a single with the song "Se Te Agarro Com Outro Te Mato" (If I Catch You Cheating I'll Kill You). Mixing cigans elements, disco music and latin music, he becomes a star in popular TV shows. He acted in the movie "Amor Latino" (Latin Love) as himself. The shows are always full of girls, and some times at the end they try to reach Magal and take his clothes off as souvenirs. He tried to change his image at 90s using jazz and bossa nova with an orchestra. The best singles are: "Sandra Rosa Madalena", "Meu Sangue Ferve por Você" (My Blood Is Hot For You, in a free translation), "Tenho" (I Got) e "Me Chama que Eu Vou" (Call Me and I'll Go).
