Svetlana "Seka" Aleksić (Serbian Cyrillic: Светлана "Сека" Алексић) (born 23 April 1981) is a Serbian pop-folk and techno folk singer. Born on 23 April 1981 in Zvornik, SFRY, now Bosnia and Herzegovina, to a Bosnian Serb father, Milorad, and a Bosniak mother, Ibrima, who also lives with Seka in Serbia. She has a younger brother, Nedžad. Her father worked as a machinist and her mother was an employee at the Drina football club. Her parents later divorced and she continued living with her mother. When the war broke out, Seka and her family moved to Banja Koviljača, Serbia and later Šabac. She started out singing Ceca's songs in cafés before she became famous. She moved to Switzerland for 2 years to boost her career in clubs and discothèques. After Switzerland she moved to Bijeljina and performed at a festival in Ćuprija, where she also found her future husband. However, after a short while, Seka and her husband divorced. Soon after, she found a new boyfriend and manager, Zoran. In the beginning, as a folk-diaspora singer, she had difficulty finding gigs around the EU countries, especially Sweden, because of her Bosnian-Serbian background. Nowadays, because of her popularity, Seka can be seen in many major EU cities. Seka also had an important role in the Serbian movie "We Are Not Angels 3" (Serbian: Ми нисмо анђели 3, Mi Nismo Anđeli 3) as "Smokvica", the girlfriend of a pop-folk star. The role first went to Croatian singer Severina but she declined due to scheduling conflicts. Since the 2002 Music Festival in the small town of Ćuprija Serbia, which was her first major public appearance as singer, she has continued living and working in Serbia together with her well-known Serbian manager/producer Zoran Kovačević and her Chihuahua "Cezar". After her first public appearances people saw her as new, modern Bosnian-Serbian pop-folk icon. Seka has her own clothing line, called "Rich Bitch", released at the same time as her third album Dođi i uzmi me. Her second clothing line is called "Queen" after her fourth album Kraljica which was released in the Fall of 2007. She broke up with her boyfriend and manager of 5 years - Zoran. Seka and Zoran have both confirmed in interviews that this it true, but he will continue to be her manager and friend. Seka has found a new boyfriend, Mladen Radulović and has recently moved out of her previous home in Sremska Mitrovica, and bought herself a new flat in Belgrade, which she was busy redecorating for a while. In 2009 she was engaged to Veljko Piljikić, and they were married at the end of 2010.
