Saraswati was an indie/noise rock band from Indianapolis. Originally formed in the spring of 1998, Saraswati was Todd Bracik on guitar, Matt Chandler on bass and vocals, Andrew Greenburg on guitar and vocals, and Dave Clark on drums. Clark left the band after a few months and was replaced with Ben Adrian. The group released their first record, I Decided To Move To 30 Years Ago in March, 1999 and played a lot of shows around the midwest. In the summer of 2000, Adrian moved to the San Francisco bay area and was replaced by Koven Smith of Blinder. The second record, Saraswati was released in December, 2001. The group disbanded in December of 2003. Their final show was recorded in its entirety and released as December 12, 2003 on the Internet. After Saraswati, Ben Adrian went on to play in Replicator, Cartographer, and Guitar vs. Gravity. Matt Chandler joined Thin Fevers. Andrew Greenburg now plays bass in Rooms, and just recently started a new band with Todd Bracik. Koven Smith continued his work with The Monster Zero Orchestra, and in 2009 started the band Heart and Go with former Hula bassist Madelyn Burgess. Read more on Last.fm.
