Biography Ride Into The Sun started in early 2010 in Adelaide, Australia as part of a resurgence of Adelaide’s psychedelic scene that reached its peak in the paisley underground of the 1980’s. Within 6 weeks of the bands establishment, they recorded their debut album ‘Ride Into The Sun’. This ten-track record produced a range of styles from the haunting ‘Run For The Hills (Reprise)’ to ‘Remorse + Regret’, as well as hidden trac... k, a cover of Mazzy Star’s ‘Wasted’, which attracted positive attention in their live set. Following this success in 2011 was the ‘Goodbye Hipster, Hello Reality’ EP, which received high rotation on Adelaide independent radio station Three D. ‘Goodbye Hipster, Hello Reality’ finds the band growing confident in their own sound, indicated by directly personal tracks such as ‘Fool’ and ‘Save Yourself’. The band toured twice to Melbourne, playing well-known venues such as The Tote, The Espy, and a 2am set at Pony Bar. Released late 2011 ‘Rats, Thieves & Liars’, is a fine six track EP. The band re-recorded two older tracks from their first self-titled album such as ‘Run To The Hills’ and ‘Realise’. The release gar- nered positive reviews from dB Magazine and online. Based on positive feedback and airplay, the EP placed Ride Into The Sun at #1 on Three Radio’s annual Top 101 chart. In early 2012, Ride Into The Sun were selected to play The Big Day Out in Adelaide, playing the Local Produce stage, pleasing existing and new fans alike, who have built into a loyal following. The band headed to Melbourne to play well-received shows at respected venues like The Old Bar, Yah Yahs, The Espy and an early slot at The Pony Bar. With the conviction they could make the best record of their signature psychedelic shoegaze sound, Ride Into The Sun worked with Alex Maas (The Black Angels) and Brett Orrison (Black Angels live show tech/producer) at Toyland Studios in Melbourne. Ride Into The Sun look to release this exciting new record in early 2013 with plans to tour on a national and international level.
