Born and raised in Israel, Reut Regev started shaping her impressive reputation on the Jazz scene at a young age. At only five years old she was introduced to the piano, and then added the trombone to her repertoire at age thirteen. While in high school, she had the opportunity to play with some of Israel’s most creatively improvisational musicians, as well as perform at Israel’s top Jazz festivals. Reut eventually decided to concentrate on her beloved trombone, and has proven to be a remarkably inspiring innovator. After serving in Israel’s army band, Reut made her way to NYC and started performing in popular Jazz clubs. She has since taken part in various musical projects in the genres of Jazz, Latin, Improvised, Contemporary Classical, Klezmer, Rock music and more. She has worked with various artists including Anthony Braxton, Butch Morris and Frank London, the Klezmer All-stars, and many others. In 2004, Reut was honored with the “Best New Talent” award by All About Jazz Magazine, proving her drive and passion. Throughout the years Reut has also worked on many projects of her own and in conjunction with her husband, drummer, Igal Foni. This includes her current project. This is R TIME. Her debut recording as a leader,This is R TIME, is sure to make a stir on the scene. With an energy that inspires, Reut’s playfulness and charisma provides a more-than-pleasurable sensory experience for all.
