Porpartes is a Grammy Award nominated pop rock band. Formed in Costa Rica currently it comprises 3 members: Marco "Macho" Salazar (founder, vocals and guitar), Juan Arce "Gnomo" (guitar) and Felipe Contreras (bass). The band was formed in 1999, when they released the album "Porpartes", that becomes in a complete success with the singles "Quiero más", "Silencio" and mostly "Sigo", which leads popularity charts. They shared scenario with artists like Juanes, David Bisbal, Aleks Syntek, The Black Eyed Peas, Camila, Seal, Duran Duran, Paulina Rubio, Enrique Iglesias, Zoé and Molotov. After a musical pause, they released their second album, "Sólo Paz", with a more elaborated and mature music, and with a new style of latin rock pop. They continued their success with the singles "Sentir", "Mira" and "La dueña". This album was nominated to Latin Grammy Awards in the category Best Pop Album for a group in 2007.
