Pedro Rafael Manjarrés Romero, (born in Valledupar on July 26, 1974) know simply as Peter Manjarrés, is a Latin Grammy-award winning Colombian lead singer, song-writer of vallenato music. His vocation as a singer was born initially as a hobby, but it was in 1999 that shows his profession as such. In Colombia he has many hits, among some: "Coge el mínimo", "Salió pirata"; "Dime que sí"; "Vellitos de Oro", "Quedé con ganas"; "Voy con todo"; "El rancho no es mío"; "Amor de mi sabana", "Imbatible"; "El amor de los dos", "El papá de los amores", "Estoy enamorado", "Y como hago", "Tu loco soy yo"; "La creciente"; "Obsesión", and his more sucesfull hit "Te dejé" and "Traga'o de ti". His first work, entitled "A New Generation" in the company of accordionist Juan Mario de la Espriella marked the beginning of who would be the pioneer of the "new wave" of vallenato. But it was in 2001 where its importance is growing, with his third album "Un Sentimiento Nuevo" (A New Feeling), which highlights the song "Me duele el corazón" (My heart aches). For that same year signed a contract with the record label Discos Fuentes. Both had been the shooting of Peter in the company of "Juancho de la Espriella" that, this couple began to make a new style of vallenato music, came to their separation after recording a fourth album called "Ya Llegó El Momento", with Peter which would throw the universe of suns of vallenato with songs like the "Caminante", and the song gives the album its name which is also the author of today's singer Felipe Peláez. Although separation was musical, not meant the end of these young people. "Juancho" would join the fledgling singer also Silvestre Dangond. For his part, Peter would arm couples with the renowned musical accordion Franco Arguelles, and construct the great union of Angel and The Colonel, recording style and flair. Currently, his accordion is Sergio Luis Rodriguez (King of Vallenato). Today, their songs, delivery to the public which is characterized realize the value of this musical art in Colombia.
