P.E.A.C.E is the stage name of Mtulazaji Davis. He is a part of the Freestyle Fellowship along with Aceyalone, Myka 9 & Self Jupiter. He has released two solo albums Southern Fry'd Chicken and Megabyte. P.E.A.C.E. is known for his fast and choppy style and many consider him to be the originator of the Dirty South style of rapping. P.E.A.C.E. is also known for his freestyling having gone to battle with Eyedea but lost to him at Scribble Jam 99. P.E.A.C.E. grew up mostly in Los Angeles, California but he stated that he lived in Dallas, Texas for about ten years. In elementary school, he played the accordion for a bit. He picked up the standup bass when he had joined his school's Marching band. When he returned to Los Angeles, P.E.A.C.E. started playing the saxophone. In an interview, P.E.A.C.E stated he started rapping in his high school years in the mid to late eighties. One of his friend had told him that there was a guy that rapped just like him at the The Good Life named Myka Nyne. Not believing his friend, he went to go check out Myka at The Good Life. P.E.A.C.E. waited around for a while but Myka didn't show up so then he got up on stage and performed for a bit and blew a few whigs back. With no luck at the Life, P.E.A.C.E. had to wait until the next Thursday night. When he returned, Myka was there and P.E.A.C.E. listened to him perform and somewhat agreed with his friend. They both had the fast rapping down but Myka had his own style. Aceyalone was there that night and had asked P.E.A.C.E. what his name was so he told him "Mtulazaji". Aceyalone then asked what his rap name was and he replied with "P.E.A.C.E." Read more on Last.fm.
