Otis Grove began as a collective experiment in crossing the traditional jazz sound, with funk and Hip-Hop rhythms. It was the beginning of a sound based in groove, free in improvisation, yet rooted in songwriting, and soulful melodies. The band began spreading their sound to New England clubs in 2003. The music, which has been described as unique blend of soulfull organ funk and garage rock, pays tribute to the masters while consistently pushing itself in new directions. Continually reinventing their musical identity, Otis Grove has shared the stage with Groups such as: The Melvin Sparks Band, Topaz, The Gordon Stone Band, Brother's Past, The Breakfast, Spiritual Rez, and many others. Otis Grove has been developing a strong following and unique sound through an on going Saturday residency at the Middle East Corner Room in Central Square, Cambridge. Read more on Last.fm.
