Os Resentidos (The Resentfuls) was a spanish rock band founded in the year 1984 by Antón Reixa (well-known galician poet and film maker), Alberto Torrado and Javier Soto. Javier later left the band, being replaced by Xabier Debesa. Antón Reixa wrote the songs while the other two played the music. The instrumentation ranged from traditional Galician bagpipes (gaitas) to synthesizers electric guitars and bass. Os Resentidos disbanded in 1994. Their most recognizable hit was "Fai un sol de carallo" (1986), a folk inflected politic-danceable rock song. They always sang in Galician language, claiming the use of this endangered idiom all over Spain. In fact, their hit "Rockin' Chair" was the only song recorded in a non-Galician language (English). Their infuences ranged from funk, caribean, african and classic rock music to traditional Galician folk songs and period Hip Hop of wich were considered pioneers in Spain. The singing technique of Reixa was similar to that of the Old School rappers, maybe because he never was taught to sing. Other famous songs were, among others, "Galicia sitio distinto" and "Galicia Express", criticizing the state of Galicia with surreal lyrics. Their 1990 album "Jei" (he title song parodying the form of singing of Julio Iglesias) was critically acclaimed and was declard the best national album of the year by Rockdelux magazine.
