Oliver Leicht

Oliver Leicht (born 2 October 1969 in Gross-Gerau ) is a German jazz clarinetist and saxophonist. Life and Work Grew up in the Nauheim, initially learned recorder, began clarinet lessons at the age of ten, and saxophone lessons from the age of seventeen. As a student of Immanuel Kant school in Rüsselsheim , he played in the school band, and then in the ICS Big Band. From 1986 to 1997 he studied classical clarinet at the music academies of Mannheim and Cologne, also from 1992, jazz saxophone in Cologne. From 1989 to 1993 he was a saxophonist in the country youth jazz orchestra Hesse 1991 to 1995 the Federal Jazz Orchestra . Since 1992, he played in the Frank Reinshagen Big Band, the Ed Partyka Jazz Orchestra, the Paul Kuhn Big Band, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Marko Lackner Jazz Orchestra, Peter Herbolzheimer Rhythm Combination & Brass, Bob Brook Meyers New Art Orchestra, the Cologne Concert Big Band, and the big bands of the NDR, WDR and HR. Since 2005 he has been a member of the hr-Bigband . Also conducts the Cologne-based Slightly more separate formations: the trio Tribop (with Matthias Nowak and Jonas Burgwinkel ), the Quartet group of men (with Norbert Scholly , Ingmar Heller and Jens Düppe) and the octet.
