Nihilartikel is a solo project by Fábio Guedes (Nine Squares, zenziC) formed in 2008 in Portugal. The music can be categorized as avantgarde metal, but started out as Experimental Mathcore in the early days ("Synaesthesis (EP)"). Nihilartikel is a different beast, set apart by the peculiar way the songs for the project are made. In 2008, "Synaesthesis (EP)" was composed as a normal EP, every song was worked on for a while before being recorded, but after this release, [artisti]Nihilartikel became an almost improvised project. Every song in Part E (Demo EP)" (2010) was created and recorded in one day (each). Starting with laying down random drum grooves and then layering bass, guitar, synths and voice on top of it.
