Nicole Elmer

Nicole Elmer began her artistic career in NYC where she discovered bands like Emergency Broadcast Network and Thrill Kill Kult. Influenced by the industrial scene, she ditched college studies at NYU in pursuit of building her own music studio. She went on to work in different recording studios for free, while amassing keyboards and digital recording equipment. She moved to New Orleans around the time Nine Inch Nails began recording for the album, "The Fragile." She landed a gig here at the studio, doing basic entry level stuff, while starting a music collective called "Chromosome 57" and writing albums as both Squab Teen and Neutral. The Chromosome 57 crew have gone on to become bands like "Belong," and "Telafon Telaviv." Her works were released on Mad Monkey in the US, and Ant Zen/Hymen in Germany. She has released singles in Japan and in the UK on Mike Paradinis' label, Planet Mu. She has performed at the Sin Fest in NYC, CMJ in NYC, and SXSW. She has since moved on to start making films, combining her experience in sound design and music composition with her interest in image and story. Read more on Last.fm.
