Nicola Ratti was born in 1978 in Milan. He started playing guitar in 1992 and has been Pin Pin Sugar guitarist, a math-jazz-rock trio, until the split of the band in early 2005. Pin Pin Sugar had a great CD album out on Bar la Muerte / Megaplomb in 2003 and have successfully toured through Italy, France and Slovenia. He began his solo career in 2002 with a self-released untitled CD-R that showcased his ability in creating tiny miniatures using guitar, voice, objects and electronics. "One Day With My Fishing Umbrella", a 10" vinyl, was released in September 2004 in a limited edition of 300 hand-packaged copies. This long and beautiful EP was produced in collaboration with friends Giuseppe Ielasi and Jacopo Andreini, two of the best known and appreciated italian improvisers. His first CD album "Prontuario per giovani foglie" has been released by Megaplomb on April 2006. Read more on Last.fm.
