Unfortunately for their fans, Nathan Asher and The Infantry played their last show on 5/24/08 at Raleigh's Berkley Cafe. It was an amazing show, the crowd packed the house, and sang along as they played every single song they'd ever written. The entire set will be released on iTunes. . . eventually. "The reason we're breaking up is, it's me basically. I started to get a lot of new ideas for songs in my head and a new way of looking at the world I guess. But, I don't think I am able to articulate it yet, I don't feel like I'm able to get it out. So, I'm going to travel some, get my head straight. That's the reason we're breaking up. There's no love lost between us. It has nothing to do with making it or not making it with the record label or anything like that." -Nate Nathan Asher has worked with the Raleigh-based grassroots charity Chords For A Cause, which put together a huge benefit concert for Darfur on April 18, 2008. Not only did the band headline the concert, but Nate played a role in the planing of the event and getting the organization started. Chords For A Cause hopes to include Nate in the planning of future events, and although nothing has been planned, hopes to convince the guys for a reunion show at a future event.
