Midwest Kings (aka MWK) was a touring band based in Tulsa, OK who also helped launch the career of David Cook, winner of the seventh season of American Idol. Prior to his season on American Idol, MWK offered Cook the opportunity to tour with an established band after Cook's own band, Axium, broke up. Described as a "regional touring band", the Midwest Kings played throughout the midwest, including gigs in states ranging from their home base of Oklahoma, through Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. The band relocated to Los Angeles when they were supporting David Cook 2008-2012. The current configuration of MWK includes Andy Skib (vocals/guitar), Neal Tiemann (lead guitar), Joey Clement (bass guitar), and Kyle Peek (drums). In addition to MWK, the band members have other interests. Andy Skib still provides backing vocals and writes for David Cook's band as well as his own project called To Have Heroes. Neal Tiemann plays guitar for Hell or Highwater. Joey Clement played bass for Selena Gomez before she recently retired the band. Kyle Peek was drummer for David Cook, playing his last gig with Cook in March, 2012. Read more on Last.fm.
