Formed in 1993, MOUNT SHASTA slid into a worldview. One of the proverbial butter knife in the back. Confinement from a parade of psychos. Language meant nothing. The boys' reformatory in pruneytown, West Virginia was starting to sound like "Home Sweet Home". This isn't empty macho posturing. The beauty is bitter. Always ones to benefactor hellbent fuck-ups; SKIN GRAFT opened its money drawers (sic), hence bankrolling the sharp as shit debut 7 inch/comic set ("Nodule"/"Sleeping Fugly") during the summer of 1993 and then the first MOUNT SHASTA full length, "Put the Creep On". It was recorded and mixed in a furious 2 hour hi-fi session. The record stands as a collaboration between the band, Chicago cartoon genius Rob Syers, and midwestern bare-knuckled boxing legend "Diamond" Dave Duvall. The artistic vision has been achieved. A condom with a pinhole in it. 1995 saw the release of MOUNT SHASTA's second full length album, "Who's the Hottie?".The band expanded in it's numbers while Al Johnson can now be found straining out the vocals for US Maple. http://www.southern.com/southern/band/MOUNT/biog.html Read more on Last.fm.
