The Mother Funk Conspiracy is a force to be reckoned with. The high-energy grooves and intricate changes will keep everyone going, from the keen, jazz influenced listener, to the casual, good times dancing types. The band features some professional jazz musicians, basically playing groove music for the dancers, yet taking jazzy solos. No smooth jazz here folks, though some songs will find your eardrums in a very pleasant mood. Dennis Hamm has been called many things, but boring lounge pianist is not one of them. Striking his keyboard furiously with sharp, fast runs and funky blue notes, he almost looks angry with the black and white keys. Don’t let that fool you though, he’s a nice guy. Jarred Pope drives the band with a unique blend of funk/jazz/sick beats. A highly experienced drummer with a long resume, including major session work in L.A. He makes the drums look so easy, while a group of drummers always hang out on the side stage to try and figure out what the heck he’s doing. Doug Sikola will bust a little funky nugget, floating on the beat and whipping out with the chicken funk guitar chord that’ll make your bottom move, whether you like it or not. The perfect blend of vintage guitar sounds imposed over the fluid grooves of the conspiracy. Forrestt Williams will hold it down on the low end. Fretless grease with a splash of punk rock edge that keeps the band rockin, he will make the heads bob. If the beat doesn’t get you, the odd stage dance of this bass player will. Now ready to support some new material and working on a new disc, the Conspiracy is ready and willing. Have Funk Will Travel. With over 328,000 plays on mp3.com and a large, diverse fanbase, the MFC is ready to bring it on. (info. from:http://www.motherfunkconspiracy.com) Read more on Last.fm.
