May Sweet

A Burmese singer who debuted at the age of 13 in the 1970s music scene, May Sweet is one of the most famous pop singers in Burma today. She is the daughter of actress Myint Myint Khin and lawyer U Khin Maung Nyunt and is well-known for classical Burmese and pop ballads and moved to the United States in the early 1990s. Although she was named Swe Aye Myint, fans dubbed her May Sweet or "Sweet Girl," which has since become her stage name. May Sweet continues to perform both in the U.S. and in Burma.
