Mathys Roets

South African born, sings in Afrikaans, English, and some Dutch songs (in a very Dutch dialect). He was introduced to the guitar by his father at the age of fourteen (according to his web site), but he has been playing the piano since early chilfdhood; however, he only got to stage and studios in the 'nineties. Influenced by artists like Koos du Plessis (South African philosopher-singer), Leonard Cohen, Cat Stevens. As he says, he sings the songs he loves, and he let the listener love them too, for his rich, mellow voice and soulful capturing. A great singer who, if one does not hear him, misses a heart rendering experience. He needs to go world wide. Read more on Last.fm.
