Born in Genova in 1964, Massimo Claus since his first years denotes a musical talent. He started to take private lessons and then, after school, he enrolled the conservatory N. Paganini in Genova, where he graduated with highest votes and two years in advance in classical guitar and composition. After the conservatory, he began his career as a session musician, job he already began during his studies, touring Italy with artists of like Umberto Bindi and Fabrizio De André, Dalla and De Piscopo, also working in collaboration with Franco Battiato on the album "L'era del cinghiale bianco" For many years, then taught at several music schools in Genova, taking courses in music technology. Until the early '90s he works together with Aldo Amoroso theatrical school 'Quinta praticabile' di Genova, doing music for the show, 'Irradio e Stellutis'. In the late '90s he recorded album 'Avatar' with the independent label 'The Garden' which combines the guitar to electronic sounds, a journey inside the human soul through major tracks like 'Anima', 'Uragano', 'Goccia', 'Avalon'. The album achieved great critical acclaim, leading him to publish the book 'Avatar - The guitar of light' in which he talks about the psychological side of musician, by introducing several innovative techniques in plaing the guitar. Attached to the book also records the CD with the same title. His research, which began with the album 'Avatar' continues in the realm of sound, leading him to study mantras, music therapy and many other forms depending on the application of sound therapy. In 2003 he started working with the label 'Ecosound' for which produces numerous publications, which indicates his music versatility , going from classical guitar music to chill-out, from music for meditation and relaxation to the realization of works of classical music, touching on authors such as Scarlatti, Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. Remember the disks 'La chitarra incantata' vol. 1 and 2 - in which he combines the sound of classical guitar with the sounds of nature - in which you can find historical parts of the guitar as the guitar transcription of the Capriccio n°5 of Paganini, or Asturias, Ricuerdos de la Alhambra, with songs composed by the same Claus become known as the 'La finestra sul mare' or Serenata alla luna '. "Wakan" instead is the result of several years of research and is dedicated the spirituality of Native Americans in which commemorates the rites with due respect and attention.
